Our International Engineering Master are open to candidates holding a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in computer science or related fields. Students with a strong background in engineering are strongly encouraged to apply as today's highly competitive world prizes postgraduate degrees. Candidates with a degree in business and first-hand experience with IT are best suited for the Information Systems Management Master program. The International Engineering Masters program is organized in three clearly differentiated academic periods: the fundamentals, the specialization and the professional training periods.

Harmonization Semester*

Students with a passion for IT and an informal experience with the discipline, who are choosing a change of field when applying to EPITA, will begin the program with the Harmonization Semester during which they will acquire basic IT academic blocks to build upon in the Fundamental Period.

*Enrolment in the Harmonization Semester is decided on an individual basis.

Fundamentals

The fundamentals period of the Master program aims at giving our students sound technical knowledge both toward their specialization in engineering. Our thorough fundamentals also introduce students and know-how procedures within company operations. This 5-month period is common to all three specializations of our International Master in Computer Science, which gives students a chance to build strong collegiality from the get go.

Specialization

The central purpose of the specialization period of the Master Program is to enable our students to enter the job market at the executive level directly upon graduation. At this time, each student specializes according to the chosen career track in order to graduate with an advanced background suited to the industrial sector. The professional profile of our students is built progressively through a series of increasingly specialized academic periods, which structure the area of focus:

  • a common core curriculum period (1 month) shared by all the specializations within the same training cycle
  • the specialization period (3 months) which is specific.

Professional Training

This last semester is organized around a 6-month company-based internship, culminating in a Master's Thesis to be defended on campus.

EPITA'S Corporate Relationships

Built around the real needs of the business world, EPITA's programs are designed to meet its expectations. From the Improvement Committee and the Scientific Committee, where senior business executives and high-level managers provide their input for improving the school's programs and research focus (IBM, Microsoft, France Tlcom, Cisco, Syntec...) to the courses themselves often taught by recognized professionals working in the industry, business is present on all levels of the school.

Through these strong corporate partnerships, our Career Services maintain privileged contacts with multinational companies that lead to both internship and employment possibilities for our students. Our alumni network extends over 40 countries enhancing international opportunities for our current students.

The required 6-month internship allows students to be exposed to the latest technologies and to gain valuable work experience. Feedback from the internship host companies has been overwhelmingly supportive of our programs. Our trainees usually receive a monthly allowance during their contract.

Campus Connectivity

EPITA (Ecole pour l'Informatique et les Techniques Avances) is a member of IONIS Education Group, the largest group of private institutions of higher education in France. Bringing 15 schools together under the same banner, the IONIS Education Group has nearly 15,000 students in France, and reaches 200,000 students in the world.

Located just outside of Paris, EPITA shares a number of facilities with other high-technology schools from the IONIS Group. On campus, students have access to all facilities (including computer rooms and labs) 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

In addition to computer rooms set up for networking, 15 specialized laboratories have been created, adding up to a total of 4000 sq. meters dedicated to technical equipment.

The Internet connection at the school runs at 1 Gbps (optical fiber), permitting 2,500 work stations to work simultaneously. Our campus is WI-FI connected, enabling students to use mobile devices anywhere. In addition, Voice over IP (VoIP) is possible throughout the network.

Insiders' Training

We believe that professionals are not only the best qualified, but the only ones genuinely qualified to train you on the professional skills you need for a successful career. Our International Engineering Masters program pledges to the following academic practices:

  • Using company-expert only instructors
  • Encouraging students to make direct contact with companies frequently. (The Career Coach at Career Services is available throughout the program)
  • Building in extensive company internship periods

Learning Through Projects

Learning a vocation is above all succeeding in mastering operational practices, beyond the necessary basic-level theoretical knowledge acquired. Our International Engineering Master Program emphasize the acquisition of concrete know-how through a learning process centered on projects which are characterized by:

  • an equal blend of basic courses and professional projects
  • a very strong emphasis on teamwork
  • an evaluation entirely based on projects

A competitive edge in the job market

EPITA's International Engineering Master Program prepare graduates for key leadership positions in the industry, offering an essential training in theory and practice that provides a competitive edge in the job market. During the program, all our students find a high-level internship that typically ends up being the first step on their career ladder. In addition, the combination of the engineering core with the business practices enables our graduates to communicate more effectively throughout and to advance their careers.
